Happier, healthier, more purpose-filled Life? Try Mindfulness

Mindfulness helps us strengthen our attention skills so we bring more awareness to the thoughts and beliefs in our mind that fuel our reactions and behavior.

Once you know how to harness and focus your attention—you can get out of your head and into this moment.

You awaken your innate ability for happiness, no matter what life throws your way.

Mindfulness strengthens our Three Attention Skills

  • Concentration power: Ability to focus our attention on what we choose in any given time.
  • Sensory clarity: Ability to track and explore your sensory experience in real time. Detecting at any given moment, what am I seeing, hearing, feeling?
  • Equanimity: Ability to allow our sensory experience to come and go without push and pull.

We all have these skills within us, we just need to focus and strengthen them.

It starts first in the mind by finding stillness and focusing our attention

As we begin to sit in silence more, simply breathing and being still for as little as ten minutes a day, we can detach from our thoughts and see how we can falsely take them to define who we are.

We create space between our thoughts and our reaction.

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” – Viktor E. Frankl

The mind is where the beliefs we live by, the story that plays is our head that drives so much of what we think and feel lives. It’s a starting place for change.

We can create a new story for ourselves, new beliefs that guide our day-to-day in alignment with who we want to be and where we want to go.

Creating a new script for ourselves

If you are unhappy with your relationship with your children, your spouse, or work you need to first think about creating a new script. Set a new intention for that relationship, how do you want it to look.

With greater awareness and attention, we can focus our thoughts and then begin to reframe our beliefs toward who we want to be, what types of relationships we want to experience, what our ideal looks like. We are reshaping our narrative with a purpose.

Mindfulness is one way to achieve greater fulfillment— it’s a set of attention skills that you can learn and grow

Mindfulness is like a gym for your mind and it can radically transform your life—leading to better health, more connected relationships, greater productivity, performance, purpose, and creativity.
